SMASH KING

Smash everything in front of you before time runs out to clear the stage. The faster you are, the more stars you earn — a 3D demolition time attack. Punches are fast and the third hit is strong; kicks are slower but heavier. Tackle with a dash, jump onto things and stomp, or swing a weapon you picked up. Mix them to smash things in the shortest time.

Keep landing hits and your combo raises your power up to 5×. The more you smash, the more your super move gauge fills — when it is full, crush everything at once. Spots glowing gold are weak points that take 2.5× damage, and red tanks explode when broken, taking their surroundings with them (explosions chain). Smash the lower floors of a building and everything above collapses at once, so the order you break things in changes your time. There are 12 weapons, including the Bat, Iron Pipe, Sledgehammer, Chainsaw and Rocket Launcher, and each is strong against certain materials.

30 stages across 6 areas — Back Alley, Parking Lot, Neighborhood, Downtown, Mega Structures and Wild Nature. It starts with an oil drum, then a bus, a two-story house, a skyscraper, a castle, a battleship… and ends with a meteorite. Pick from 5 very different characters (Gou the power type, Tetsu who charges for one huge hit, Kyoya the weapon master, Mina the speedster and Oyama the tackler), each with a different super move. There is also “How much can you smash?”, a 3-minute score attack against things that keep coming. There are no lives — getting hit by a counterattack only stuns you and costs time. Three difficulties.
